Support person

You are welcome to bring a support person or friend to the consultation or assessment. The support person is there to assist you, be a witness to events, and perhaps help you feel less anxious.

The following is taken from a letter by the Ombudsman

"A support person may attend meetings, take notes, quietly make suggestions to the claimant and give advice but he or she may not act as an advocate or representative and speak instead of or on behalf of the claimant."
